TagFoundry Privacy Policy

Effective date: 11 August 2026
Last updated: 11 August 2026

This policy explains how TagFoundry (the "App") handles information.

Privacy at a glance

Information stored on your device

Depending on the features you use, the App may store:

This information is used only to provide the App's features. It is kept in the App's private storage unless you choose to export or share it.

When information may leave your device

Google Play Billing

TagFoundry uses Google Play Billing for the optional one-time TagFoundry Pro purchase. Google processes the payment and related transaction information under Google's own terms and privacy policy. The App receives purchase status and related purchase details needed to unlock or restore Pro, and caches the entitlement locally. We do not receive or store your full payment-card information.

For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.

User-configured webhooks

The Pro action-tag feature can send an HTTP or HTTPS request to a web address that you or the NFC tag supplies, such as a home-automation service. A request is sent only after you take an action and approve the destination origin when required.

The destination can receive the request method, headers, and content configured for the action, as well as ordinary network information such as your IP address. The owner of that destination controls its own logging, retention, and use of the request. TagFoundry does not receive a copy. The App refuses to follow a redirect to an unapproved origin.

HTTPS encrypts the request in transit. If you deliberately use an http:// address, including a local-network address, the request is not protected by HTTPS and could be observed or altered on the network.

Links, Smart Pages, and other apps

When you choose to open a URL, launch another app, make a call, send a message or email, connect to Wi-Fi, or perform another external action, Android passes the relevant information to the app or service you selected. Its own privacy policy and terms apply. TagFoundry does not control those third parties.

The Smart Page feature writes an HTTPS link to an NFC tag; TagFoundry does not host the linked page.

Exports and sharing

You can export libraries, backups, and reports, or share content with another app or storage provider. These transfers occur only when you initiate them. After an export leaves TagFoundry, the selected destination and any copies you make are under your control and may be governed by another provider's privacy policy.

Device permissions and access

TagFoundry may use the following device capabilities to provide features you request:

Having a permission does not mean TagFoundry automatically collects or uploads the information available through it.

Backup and device transfer

TagFoundry excludes its data from Android cloud backup. Android may transfer the App's local database, such as your saved library, directly to a replacement device during an Android device-to-device migration. App preferences are excluded from that transfer. Device migration is provided and controlled by Android or your device manufacturer.

Retention and deletion

Local information remains on your device until you delete the relevant item in the App, clear TagFoundry's app data in Android settings, or uninstall the App. TagFoundry has no user account to delete and no server-side NFC library.

Files you exported must be deleted from their saved locations separately. Data sent to a webhook or another service is retained according to that destination's practices. Google manages Google Play transaction records according to its own policies and legal obligations.

Because we do not receive your NFC content or maintain a TagFoundry account, we normally have no remote copy of that information to access, correct, or delete.

Security

We use Android's app-private storage and platform security controls to protect local information. We also require approval for new webhook origins and recommend HTTPS for network requests. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so you should avoid placing information on an NFC tag that you would not want another person with physical access to read.

Children's privacy

TagFoundry is a general-purpose NFC utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support request, contact us so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when TagFoundry's features or legal requirements change. We will update the date at the top and publish the revised policy at the same public URL. Material changes will also be disclosed in the App or its store listing when appropriate.
